CALL FOR TUTORIAL PROPOSALS: The ER2000 Program Committee solicits tutorial proposals. Each tutorial will be presented in sessions of either 1.5 or 3 hours in yet-to-be-determined time slots between Monday and Thursday (October 9-12, 2000). Topics should be relevant to conceptual modeling, design, and applications. The goal of a tutorial at the conference is to provide a road map (for beginners or advanced attendees) about a subject area so that attendees can then pursue work in that area if they are so inclined. Generally, tutorials emphasize breadth and cover material from a variety of different authors. The conference STRONGLY ENCOURAGES proposals containing NEW ideas and NEW approaches or proposals on NEW subjects related to conceptual modeling. Tutorial subjects can be repeated from year to year if there appears to be continuing interest. If you are interested in proposing a tutorial, please send a 1-2 page proposal to the Tutorials Chair by April 11, 2000, describing the tutorial content and potential audience, its importance to conceptual modeling, and your qualifications to teach it. If your tutorial has been presented elsewhere (or is under consideration for presentation), please mention this in your proposal. Send your proposal by e-mail ONLY in a plain text file (i.e. no PostScript, PDF, LaTeX, etc.) to lingliu@cc.gatech.edu. The proposal evaluation committee will consist of the Tutorials Chair and other members of the Program and Organizing Committees. The notification date is June 13, 2000. If your proposal is accepted, you must submit the following by July 11, 2000: * Name, affiliation, address, phone, fax, e-mail, URL of presenter(s) * Tutorial title * A self-contained 300-500 word description of the tutorial * A 100-200 word biographical sketch for each presenter * Electronic copy of your presentation (for handouts and Web posting) IMPORTANT DATES: * Submission of tutorial proposals April 4, 2000 * Notification of acceptance June 13, 2000 * Submission of required material July 11, 2000 * Conference October 9-12, 2000 TUTORIALS CHAIR: Ling Liu College of Computing Georgia Institute of Technology 801 Atlantic Dr. Atlanta, GA 30332-0280 USA Voice: Fax: 404-894-9846 E-mail: lingliu@cc.gatech.edu
